You know what I love most in this world?
Chocolate.
You know what I love second most in this world (all food, husbands, and dogs excluded)?
Readathons!
Naturally, that leaves one thing for me to do. Sign up for the Wicked Winter Read-A-Thon!
Hosted by Kindle Fever and My Shelf Confessions, the Wicked Winter Read-A-Thon runs from today, February 3rd to Sunday, February 5th. While I’d like to say I’m going to use the time to read books that have been sitting on my shelf forever, I’m actually going to use it to read a few library books that have to go back and a few books that I’ve been dying to read that I’ve put on my new Kobo.
I’ll be posting updates here on this page (as well as any challenge stuff), and using the hashtag #WWReadathon on Twitter. You can follow me on Twitter at @ReadingInWinter.
Not sure if you want to sign up? You should! There will be challenges, prizes, and even a Twitter party!
I plan to read (at least):
1. Anna and the French Kiss, by Stephanie Perkins
2. Divergent, by Veronica Roth
3. The Woman In Black, by Susan Hill
4. Across the Universe, by Beth Revis
5. Ditched, by Robin Mellom <– mood read addition
I also hope to meet some new bloggers, participate in the challenges, and spend as much time as I can reading! There’s a football game on this weekend, so that won’t be too hard.
If you want to sign up or check out the schedule, you can do so over at Kindle Fever.
Happy reading!

Day 1
# of pages read: 132+288+45=465
# of books read: 1 2
Challenges completed: 2 (#2 and #3)
Books (names): The Woman In Black, by Susan Hill; Ditched, by Robin Mellom; Divergent, by Veronica Roth (started)
Thoughts on the day: Today was an interesting reading day because I was up at 4:00 in the morning. Naturally, that meant my eyes wanted me to sleep all day long, so it was hard to concentrate. I’m surprised I read as much as I did! That’s probably why I added Ditched to my list … it seemed like a fun read that would keep me interested in the afternoon. I was right!
CHALLENGE #3: Welcome to the Unknown
This challenge is hosted by Vicki over at Books, Biscuits & Tea!
The challenge is to post where you read.
Well, the answer is obvious: Where don’t I read, now that I have my Kobo! (Warning: it’s a non-makeup picture!)
OK, dark spaces is hard, but if I have my book light, it’s pretty awesome.
Though, Kobo or not, here is one place I like to read:
My bed. Of course. This is where I tend to read a paragraph over and over and over again, only to wake up in the morning having no clue where I stopped reading. I usually read here right before bed. So no snacks or anything since the dentist says I should floss and brush before bed, and wear my splint while sleeping (he’s no fun, right?).
But when I want to eat and drink and par-TAY when reading, I like to sit in my library:
I like my lamp, my table, my pillow (for resting my book on), and my rocking chair. Foot stool is a must, and I have a heating blanket. Normally I drink a ton of tea or coffee, or any beverages when I read here. Snacks don’t happen too often, usually things I can eat with one hand.
And there you go! That’s where I read.

Day 2
# of pages read: 250+372 (1,087 total)
# of books read: 1 2 (4 total)
Books (names): Divergent, by Veronica Roth; Anna and the French Kiss, by Stephanie Perkins
Challenges completed: 3 (#4, #5, #6)
Thoughts on the day: A good day for reading, though it’s taking me longer than it should. I have the distraction of hockey in the background when I’d prefer to read in silence.
Loving the book choices, though! I had to stay up and finish Anna and the French Kiss, I loved it so much — hello 1:30am bedtime!
CHALLENGE #4: The Wicked Winter Ball
This challenge is hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
The ball is coming! What will I wear? Who will I bring?
Well, I LOVE this dress, so it’s a no-brainer:
And as for the boy? Another no-brainer.
CHALLENGE # 6: Picture Puzzle Challenge
This challenge is hosted by Michelle over at Book Briefs! I decided to pick the book I’m currently reading … it was a little tough, but hopefully you can get what the title is through pictures:

Day 3
# of pages read: 168 (1,255 total)
# of books read: 1/2 (4.5 total)
Books (names): North of Beautiful, by Justina Chen Headley
Thoughts on the day: Despite the fact that today was full of hockey and football — neither of which I’m interested in — I couldn’t actually get into my book! That’s not to say I don’t like it … I’m really enjoying it … but I felt way too distracted today. I either wanted to bake, or I wanted to nap. So that’s why I have such a low page count!
—
FINAL UPDATE: I had so much fun doing this readathon! It was nice to chat with people on Twitter (though, since Twitter updated, I find it hard to chat … I should find a different way to use it). I finished 4 books, all of which I loved, and it was great to read books that I’ve really been looking forward to. Now I can get back to all the books that are gathering dust on my shelves! I didn’t participate in all the challenges, but I think I did enough of them. Despite the fact that I didn’t finish my 5th book, I’m still happy with what I did over the weekend. I declare it a success!

Your library looks so cozy! And what did you think of The Woman in Black? I just got it a few days ago!

Thanks! I thought The Woman In Black was okay … not my favourite, and not very scary. I read it after seeing the trailer over at Christa’s Books blog … the trailer looks really scary!
The trailer made me want to read it…looked spooky!
Hahahaha I forgot to warn you guys that I posted a non-make up photo as well! Your library looks super awesome!! I wish I had a chair like that with a matching foot stool
Thanks for sharing these fab photos with us!

Your reading places look so cozy! And that chair<3 I want one! I only have my bed, and while it's good for the right-before-bed reading, I'd love a place for the day-time as well!

Could I dance just once with your date? eheh ;D
