BOOK NEWS: Lauren Oliver, Stephenie Meyer, and author appearances in Edmonton

Posted 5 April, 2012 by Kristilyn in Book News, Features / 1 Comment

Books News is a feature of Reading In Winter where I post just that … book news! This is mainly for authors whom I LOVE, but I just wanted a place to show all of the awesome news in the world of books.

Newsworthy Item #1: Lauren Oliver is writing a book for adults!

I feel a little weird posting this news because I’m so new to the world of Lauren Oliver. I’m just now in the middle of Delirium and LOVING IT beyond words. I find I keep taking breaks because I don’t want it to end, even though I have Pandemonium in my possession and can start on that as soon as I finish.

However, on Twitter today, it was posted that Lauren is writing a book for adults! How awesome is that?

You can read all the news about this over on the New York Times website. So far, the title of this book is ROOMS and it will be published in the Fall of 2014!

Newsworthy Item #2: The teaser trailer for The Host!
I am a huge fan of Stephenie Meyer and really wish that she would release a sequel to my favourite book by her, The Host. However, when that wildly-popular movie The Hunger Games came out, it was revealed that a teaser trailer for the movie The Host was shown during the previews!

Watch the teaser trailer below. I think this’ll be a book I’ll be rereading soon!

And … if you’re in the Edmonton area:

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012 — author ROBERT J. SAWYER will be at Audrey’s Books at 7:00 p.m. signing his newest book Triggers!

Wednesday, April 25th, 2012 — author CHRISTOPHER MOORE will be at the Southside Indigo Books at 7:00 p.m. signing his newest book Sacre Bleu!
