  1. I have yet to read any Aimee Carter, but I love mythology sooo… I should do that..

Also.. Canadian dystopian?! I hope you enjoy it!

Great books this week, even though you say it was a slow week, you get more than me on a good week..lol

    Happy reading!

    Also, cute dogs!

  2. Ooh I haven’t seen a vlog from your before. The music is very cute, I love it. And I love your perkiness. Also, kudos on the editing, very well done. <3

  3. Ooh most of those I haven’t heard of but they look good! Going to have to check them out!! The Rest is Silence looks extremely good – LOVE that cover! I haven’t read ANYTHING by Cassandra Clare, I have the first three books of The Mortal Instrument’s series and I’ve been told on pain of death I MUST read them ASAP – so August is my Cassandra Clare month :D

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog and I hope you have a great time reading your books and a fantastic week!

  4. Hi Kristilyn!

We were chatting on Twitter earlier today so I decided to stop by and watch your video ;)

Your dogs are so cute! I’m totally a dog person–but hubby is more a cat person, and since I’m allergic to both of them and we live in an apartment I can’t have any… Can’t wait to get a house with a yard so then we can have both!

The introduction song in the video is awesome, this is the first time I see something like that in a IMM video! Loved it! Btw, what software do you use to edit your video? I’m researching a new one because I don’t like the one I use and it’s not updated (Camtasia Studio).

About the books you got… I have The Goddess Test, but haven’t read yet. I love Greek mythology and maybe I’ll pick this one up as my next reading!

I have yet to try listening to an audio book. I usually read 100 pages per hour, so I’m not sure I’d adapt myself to its pace…

I didn’t get any book this past week. I have way to many books to be read here, plus I’m looking for a new job, so I decided to slow down my buying impulses whenever they come LOL I’m only buying when a. it’s a book that’s sitting on my wishlist for a while and now it’s on sale or b. it’s a new book that I’m dying for (like I did with Holly Black’s Black Heart and will do with Veronica Rossi’s Insurgent next month).

Anyway, hope you have a great week! :)

    • Hi Maeva!

Thank you so much for stopping by — that’s sweet of you. :)

I use iMovie to edit my videos … it came with my Mac and it makes everything so simple! I also use my Mac to record, but I do have a Flip cam, which I hope to use eventually. I like my Mac because I can actually see myself when recording. It’s sooo much easier.

I completely agree with why you’re hesitant about audiobooks. I’m the same way. I think I read that it should take 6 hours to read a 300 page book (obviously less for you!), but an audiobook for 300 pages is probably close to 5 hours! It’s strange to get used to, but I like the pace. It helps me remember things more.

I’m trying to tailor my impulses the same way … I used to just go buy what’s interesting and now I’m waiting to buy the books I really, really want. In most cases, my library will get the book I want in, so that’s always good.

      Thanks for commenting!

      • Hi again Kristilyn :)

I use my webcam to record my IMM too–got a HD one to stream my wedding and I’ve been using it since then. It’s much better to be able to see yourself while recording, in the past, when I used my regular camera, I saw that sometimes I’ll cut the bottom of the books in the video, not intentionally of course LOL Thanks for telling me about the editor ;)

If 300 pages are close to 5 hours I’m probably gonna pass heh heh Also I like to mark quotes in the book as I read, and I put them at the end of my reviews, with audiobooks that would be impossible… However, audiobooks must be great for when you’re driving and can’t read! I’m still on the fence about this…

I live a couple of blocks away from my library, but I don’t have a schedule to read my books, and I want to have them, so I end up not getting any of them at the library… I know I would save tons of money, but I just can’t help myself. LOL

Thanks for replying my comment ;)

      • Yes! I tried with my Flip and was constantly cutting things off. It was frustrating.

I’m sad that you’re not on the audiobook bandwagon! I have a post coming out on later this week about the BENEFITS of audiobooks, so you should stay tuned for it. Maybe it’ll change your mind. ;)

  5. So this is my first time watching a video of yours and I want to say, without sounding creepy: You’re so cute! Haha! You make me want to read Goddess Interrupted, though I probably have to read The Goddess Test first; Muse—I wonder if I can win it somewhere; and The House I Loved. I read Sarah’s Key last month and liked it—or, okay, okay, it broke my heart—so I do want to see what Tatiana de Rosnay has in store now. I’m trying not to have high expectations, though!

And on City of Fallen Angels… Yes. Ed Westwick. British accents are just… Ooh, love. I never continued on after reading the first three books of The Mortal Instruments, but on the bright side I’m loving The Infernal Devices! So. ANYWAY. Enjoy the audiobook. And hi to your dogs! (:

    • I admit that when I record my IMMs (at least the last 2), I have an overwhelming bout of energy that hits me hard. Books excite me. :)

I still haven’t started to listen to CoFA! Maybe tomorrow since I have #5 of 7 vet appointments to go to (for dog breeding purposes). Maybe it’ll make me get off my butt and get some housework done, too.
