About The Blogger

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me! I hope you find some interesting things here.

About Me

My name is Kristilyn. My two favourite hobbies include reading (obviously, if you’re on this site!) and creating music! I’m a singer-songwriter who has released a few CDs and loves to create bookish tunes (which can be downloaded for free on my bandcamp page). I love to read almost anything and blog my love of books here at Reading In Winter. I really enjoy interacting with other bloggers, authors, and publishers!

Things I like (besides books & music):

Winter Days
Watermelon
The Rick Mercer Report
Vlogbrothers
Farmer’s Markets
Hot tea on a cold morning
Fuzzy socks
Bookmarks
Doctor Who
Kisses from the dogs
The National
The feel of grass under my toes
Apples
Silence in the morning
Cheetos
Burt’s Bees Lip Balm
Ginger Candies
Hugs from my little boy
Super ripe pears

When I’m not reading or playing with my boy, I’m usually:

Doing yardwork (there’s a lot of work to be done once the snow melts!)

Baking or cooking (I love making cookies … mmm, cookies.)

Catching up on my favourite TV shows (The Mindy Project, Heartland, Doctor Who, Parenthood) and getting addicted to new ones  — or watching my favourites that aren’t on air anymore (Chuck, Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl, Sex and the City)

Watching a movie (All-time favourite: Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken)

Playing my piano (Loud, loud, and louder!)

Listening to music (Way too many favourite artists to name!)

Knitting & crocheting (I just picked this up a few years ago and I love it! I hope to get better with more practice!)

I live in Alberta, Canada with my husband, our three dogs and one cat. Our newest addition, Baby Reading In Winter, arrived in November 2013 and loves to read with his mommy. :)
