Top Ten Books For People Who Like Author X

I absolutely ADORE Stephanie Perkins. I ate up both Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door way too soon and now I can’t wait for her next book, Isla and the Happily Ever After to be released. There’s something so awesome about books that are cute and funny and can be read in one sitting. After so much paranormal, mystery, dystopian heaviness, it’s nice to break out of the shell and read something light. And it helps that Stephanie Perkins is an AMAZING author.

But what to read while waiting for her next book? Here are my recommendations:

Ditched, by Robin Mellom

Ditched is a wonderful novel that takes place in the course of one night. And it’s HILARIOUS! I enjoyed every single minute I spent reading this novel.

Wanderlove, by Kirsten Hubbard

I love a good travel story, especially since I’m such a chicken when it comes to traveling, and Wanderlove fits the bill. It’s full of great travel descriptions AND is a cute romance.

Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares, by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan

This book was my introduction to both of these wonderful authors and it truly is a wonderful read. Who doesn’t like cute romance, and who doesn’t like scavenger hunts? If you love both of those, then you’ll love this one!

Top Ten Books on my Summer TBR List

It seems that when winter comes around, I’m always buying books. With winter being here, there’s not a lot to do, so I spend a lot of time looking at books online, or going to the local stores and looking at all the pretty covers (which usually ends with me BUYING the books with pretty covers). This means that I end up with a HUGE pile of books when summer rolls around! And we actually get a few nice days in the summer, which are perfect for reading. Or, we get days filled with thunderstorms. I love to open the window wide so I can read my book while listening to the storm.  Continue reading

Top Ten Books To Take to the Beach

I haven’t been to a beach in a long time. I live in Alberta, where the beaches are rare and if you do get to one, you’re usually disappointed because they have nothing on some of the nicer beaches, like in California or Hawaii. So for me, my place to read is in the yard, on the deck. We live by a river, so there are a few lookouts on the river that would make perfect places to read!

At any rate, if you’re looking for a good read to take to the beach — or your favourite summer spot to read — here are a few of my favourites, in no particular order: Continue reading
