Inheriting a beautiful old hotel on the seaward shore of Hope Island could be a dream come true for Libby. The inn cries out for her restorer’s talent and love of history. She’s delighted to learn of family she never knew she had. And the handsome Coast Guard lieutenant she’s met there on the island could definitely be the man of her dreams.

But Libby soon realizes that only way she can afford the upkeep on the inn is to sell it to developers who are stalking the island. The father who willed her the inn has died before she could meet him, and her newfound brothers and sisters are convinced she’s there to steal their birthright. Worst of all, her best friend and business partner has been kidnapped before her eyes, Libby’s under suspicion for the crime, and her handsome lieutenant clearly doubts her innocence.

Libby’s dream-come-true is becoming a nightmare. Can she find her friend and establish her innocence? Must she sell Tidewater Inn and lose her family again? Or can she find a home for her heart on the beautiful shores of Hope Island?

My Thoughts

My open letter to Colleen Coble:

Dear Ms. Coble,

Please. Do not stop writing. You are an amazing author who creates amazing books. You make me want to visit beaches, ranches, or small towns, just so I can find friends, fall in love, and be in touch with my spiritual side.

If I had all the money in the world, I would buy all of your books for my collection, as well as copies for my reading friends and family members just so they can read your books.

You are a gem!

Best,
Kristilyn

If you’re like me, you like to read books that are full of romance. But these books aren’t just about romance — they also have intrigue and mystery. Sure, I love a silly, chick-lit book now and then, but I also enjoy my chick-lit books that are a little different from the norm. Continue reading

Lucy Marsh has lost everything but her determination to provide for her brother and sister. When she realizes her father’s death was no accident, she decides to accept a proxy marriage in order to get her siblings out of harm’s way. But trouble follows her to Wichita Falls, Texas, and nothing there is as she expected.

My Thoughts

I’ve never been one to read Westerns, but when I was taking a look at the current offerings from Booksneeze, I knew I had to give Colleen Coble’s Blue Moon Promise a try. I had read her novella in the book Smitten a few months ago and really enjoyed the Christian romance aspect of it, so I figured this book would be a wonderful offering.

The first of the Under Texas Stars series, Blue Moon Promise tells the story of Lucy Marsh and her siblings, Jed and Eileen, who have had some bad luck in life, with their mother dying when they were young, and their new mother leaving them to fend for themselves. Lucy starts to feel desperate as she loses her job, her father dies, and she’s left to care for herself and her siblings. When Lucy and her siblings’ safety is put at risk, she must make an important decision when an old friend of her mothers finds her and offers to help. Lucy feels it’s the only thing left to do, but what he asks — that she marry his son by proxy — sounds a little crazy to her, but it’s all she can do in order to keep herself and her sibling’s safe.

I thought this was a wonderful book and another great story by Coble. Continue reading

With Smitten Lumber closing, residents wonder if their town can stay afloat. Then four friends and local business owners decide the town is worth saving: they’ll turn it into a honeymoon destination. Little do they know that love is already on the way.

My Thoughts

I am a huge lover of romance. If I’m reading a book of any genre, I always try to find the romantic angle to it. Vampire novel? Gotta have romance. Suspense-thriller novel? Yep — must have romance. True-life novel about a convicted serial killer? Must have romance. It’s just how I am.

With the last two novels I’ve received through Booksneeze — both categorized as romance — I have been pleasantly surprised. I’ve never been one to read Christian romance, but I’m realizing that it’s not any different from any other romance — there’s just the random bit of spirituality thrown in. And you know what? It’s nice. Continue reading
